Each year the NMDA membership has the opportunity to nominate outstanding dietitians for awards to be presented at the NMDA Annual Conference. The following awards are presented each year:

Scholarships
New Mexico Dietetic Association (NMDA) has two $500 scholarships available for New Mexico Nutrition Students
Undergraduate Student Scholarship Qualifications:
- Student officially admitted to a nutrition/dietetics program at a New Mexico school
- Has completed 60 credit hours including 12 hours applicable towards meeting the academic requirements for membership in ADA
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Student member of the American Dietetic Association
Graduate Scholarship Qualifications:
- Resident of New Mexico
- Accepted as a graduate student in a program or internship or presently enrolled in such a program at a New Mexico school
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Student member of the American Dietetic Association
