Each year the NMDA membership has the opportunity to nominate outstanding dietitians for awards to be presented at the NMDA Annual Conference. The following awards are presented each year:

RECOGNIZED YOUNG DIETITIAN OF THE YEAR

OUTSTANDING DIETETIC STUDENT

NEW MEXICO CHILE PEPPER AWARD

Scholarships

New Mexico Dietetic Association (NMDA) has two $500 scholarships available for New Mexico Nutrition Students
Undergraduate Student Scholarship Qualifications:

  1. Student officially admitted to a nutrition/dietetics program at a New Mexico school
  2. Has completed 60 credit hours including 12 hours applicable towards meeting the academic requirements for membership in ADA
  3. A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  4. Student member of the American Dietetic Association

Graduate Scholarship Qualifications:

  1. Resident of New Mexico
  2. Accepted as a graduate student in a program or internship or presently enrolled in such a program at a New Mexico school
  3. A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  4. Student member of the American Dietetic Association
